San Gimignano e Siena

On Friday, we had a school-planned day trip to San Gimignano and Siena! So much fun!

First, we went to San Gimignano.

Then we saw the Museo della Tortura. They were like: "Do you want to see two museums of torture for only 5 euros?" And we were like: "Sure."

It was much creepier than I'd bargained for.

Stocks (one of the less creepy torture devices)
Then we went to Il Museo Della Pena Di Morte (The Museum of the Death Penalty). This one was fantastically goosebump-inducing as well.

There was this creepy staircase leading to the depths, and we went down it.

The ambiance of the basement was super eerie.

Later, we found out that they used to kill people in that basement! No wonder it was so creepy!

And so, we left the lovely medieval town of San Gimignano.

And then we went to Siena!

Palazzo Pubblico
We relaxed in the shade of the Piazza del Campo and enjoyed frozen desserts. I got a gelato.

The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo
Then we went on a tour of Siena. We spent a lot of time in the Duomo di Siena.

The Pulpit
At some point we had to say farewell to beautiful Siena.

Travelling was so much fun that I want to explore many new places! If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
