Fall in Firenze

After my Athens experience, I have a renewed appreciation for this amazing city where I live. It is beautiful.Everything is within walking/busing distance. The language is lovely to listen to.I feel safe walking around. There is always more to discover.

Because Italians do not celebrate Thanksgiving, the Christmas cheer starts early! I'm loving it! Tis the season of Italian desserts, la cioccolata calda, and modern art exhibits ?

The trees change colors with the seasons here! I am not used to living somewhere with seasons- it is beautiful!

This is a modern art exhibit outside of Santa Croce. That is not snow on the ground- they're white stones. It is unlikely that it will snow while I'm here, but I am praying that it will! I have never had a white Christmas! The giant rocks are arranged into a giant cross. This piazza has a really good vibe right now- everyone is in the Christmas spirit!

This open market features a bunch of goodies like olive oil, cheese, wine, and chocolate.

I went for a jog at Cascine park, and I actually ran because it was cold! I'm fortunate to live so close to this forest of a park. Every time I go here, I think Malibu would love this.

Another unexpected modern art exhibit- outside of our massive Duomo and Baptistery, there are now a bunch of olive trees. It's always nice to see some green in a city.

The above picture of course doesn't capture how tall the Campanile (bell tower) is. It's dang tall! I know this because I climbed it with a couple of friends, as I need to explore more of my city before time runs out.

Climbed it! I'm on top of the city! Woohoo!
